Finnish Chamber of Commerce and Sydney Symphony invite you to Sibelius Cycle
Conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy
Experience the mysterious, desolate yet beautiful terrain of Sibelius’ native Finland throughout these four programs encompassing all seven symphonies, the Violin Concerto with Russian virtuoso violinist Boris Belkin, and the symphonic poems, Tapiola and The Oceanides from 12 to 26 November.
Vladimir Ashkenazy begins the cycle with the first two symphonies, often said to symbolise the glorious, final flowering of nineteenth century Romanticism.
Sibelius’ voice is eloquent and distinct as he embarks on his symphonic journey.
