From the Editors desk

Welcome to the first edition of FACC newsletter. This quarterly newsletter will bring you updates relating to the Finnish Australian business community.

In this issue we give you an update from the recent AGM and Christmas Party, we welcome the new FACC board for 2005 and give an insight from Satu Vänskä, a Sydney based surfing violinist who is a member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra. We are also happy to announce that according to recent surveys Finland remains the world's most competitive country and the Finnish kids are the smartest in the World. It is good way to end the year.

We at FACC will take this opportunity to thank the Embassy of Finland, the Consulate of Finland and the Honorary Consul, Paul and Mrs Ilona Wenham, for all of their support and assistance during the past year. Finn of the Month

Satu Vänskä is the Assistant Lead of the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO). She was born to a Finnish family in Japan where she took her first violin lessons at the age of three. In 1989 her family moved back to Finland where Satu continued her studies at the Lahti Conservatorium, the Sibelius Academy and the Kuhmo Violin School. Read more >>
