Nordic Innovation and Investment Seminar
Tuesday, 17 October 2006
Sydney, Australia
What better way to celebrate the achievements of Finland and its neighbours in international trade and innovation than to have a seminar showcasing some of the most successful Nordic businesses in Australia.
On 17 October 2006 the Finland Australia Chamber of Commerce Inc in conjunction with the Trade Commission of Denmark, the Swedish Australian Chamber of Commerce, the Consulate General of Iceland, the Royal Norwegian Consulate General and
the Scandinavian Business Club held a seminar on Nordic innovation and investment in Australia. The seminar was well attended with over 80 guests representing a range of businesses, institutions and governments from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Australia.
Speakers from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Pandora Jewelry, Wilm Wilhelmsen Investments, Tetra Pak, Nilfisk-Advance and Nokia were divided into 2 panels, one dealing with investment and the other talking about world-class Nordic innovation. The guests heard how little acorns turn into great oaks - with the help of a healthy attitude and great determination - and how great ideas become iconic inventions. Look no further than innovations in mobile communications, packaging, medical equipment, machinery and design to see why Nordic businesses are still amazing consumers everywhere.
After the seminar wound up, guests stayed late into the night enjoying the food, wine and fine surroundings. A perfect way to spend a summer night in Sydney.
